Police Arrest Black Friday Car Burglars at the Great Mall

Milpitas Police beefed up parking lot patrols at the Great Mall for Black Friday, and one officer caught two men in the act of attempting to break into vehicles.

, beginning right at midnight on Thanksgiving. For that reason, Milpitas Police beefed up security within the mall, and also had extra officers on patrol in the parking lots.

The extra security paid off, as one officer on patrol on bicycle in the parking lot caught two male suspects in the act of attempting to break into vehicles at approximately 9:20 a.m.

The bicycle officer first spotted Rafael Junior Clemente, a 21-year-old Hispanic San Jose resident, on foot in the parking lot peering into the windows of several vehicles. The officer then saw Clemente attempt to open the door of a vehicle by tampering with the lock.

The officer stopped Clemente, and found him to be in possession of a burglary tool.

When the officer took Clemente back to his car, he found another man, Angel Garcia Aguilar Jr., a 30-year-old Hispanic San Jose resident, in the passenger seat. Aguilar Jr., who was on parole, was also found with burglary tools.

The Milpitas Police department says, after further investigation, it was determined that the two suspects were working together as a team to break into cars and steal valuables during the Black Friday sales at the Both men were arrested on several charges.

Clemente was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for attempted burglary, conspiracy, possession of burglary tools, and tampering with a vehicle.

Aguilar, Jr. was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for attempted burglary, conspiracy, possession of burglary tools, and a parole violation.
