Police Nab Suspect for Attempted Residential Burglary

An 18-year-old San Jose resident attempted to burglarize a home on Sepulveda Avenue in Milpitas.

Milpitas Police located an 18-year-old San Jose resident suspected of attempting to burglarize a home in the 2100 block of Sepulveda Avenue. 

The teen was found in jail for an unrelated criminal offense in another area, according to Milpitas Police. 

He was suspected of attempting to burglarize a home on May 29, 2012 when a victim heard a knock at her front door but didn't answer. She looked through her window and saw three Hispanic males standing at her door. Two of the suspects jumped the side fence into her backyard and attempted to pry open a kitchen window, according to Milpitas Police.

Once the suspects saw that the victim was home, they fled. Officers arrived and checked the area but were unable to locate the suspects. 

Then, during the investigation, officers found physical evidence at the scene linking to the suspect, then 17-year-old. On April 10, a Milpitas detective interviewed the suspect and the DA added a charge against him for the Milpitas attempted burglary, according to Milpitas Police.

The suspect is still in custody.
