Sex Offender Arrested

Fernando Andy Perez, 51, a registered sex offender in Milpitas, was arrested on multiple charges related to sexual abuse of a minor.

A Milpitas man is in custody at the Elmwood Correctional Facility after a girl revealed to her mother that he had sexually abused her over a course of several years.

According to the police report, the girl disclosed the information to her mother after she became pregnant.

Last Saturday, an officer drove the suspect to the station for questioning, and he was subsequently arrested on multiple charges.

Fernando Andy Perez, 50, a registered sex offender living in Milpitas, was charged with continuous abuse of a child, sodomy under 14 years of age, and sexual penetration and lewd acts.

On August 16, the District Attorney filed charges of four counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and three counts of lewd or lascivious acts.

He is being held without bail and scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, according to the inmate locator.

Perez and the victim know each other, according to the police report. Milpitas Patch will not disclose further identifying information on the victim, because of the sensitive nature of the case.

According to the Megan's Law database, Perez was convicted in the past of lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14 years of age.

He was living at another address not registered with the police station, according to the police report. He may have been out of compliance with Megan's Law.
