Milpitas police to carry torch through the city as it heads to its final destination–the Summer Games at UC Davis.

California Highway Patrol officers and county sheriff's deputies are expected to hand off the torch to Milpitas police on Thursday afternoon.

About 15 officers and volunteers from the Explorer program will accompany the torch from the San Jose-Milpitas border to the police station, said Officer Duong Nguyen. From there, the torch will be driven to Fremont.
