Thieves Prey on Parked Cars at Milpitas Shopping Centers

Within the last few days, multiple car break-ins have been reported at Milpitas Square, Great Mall and McCarthy Ranch shopping centers.

Lock your cars and take your valuables with you — thieves are targeting parked cars at Milpitas shopping centers. 

Near the Great Mall, two cars were broken into recently. At 1:43 p.m. April 12, more than $400 worth of items were stolen from a car parked in the 1 block of Moon Shadow Drive. At 8:31 p.m. on April 14, more than $400 worth of items were stolen from a car in the 100 block of Great Mall Drive. 

In the McCarthy Ranch Marketplace, there were three car burglaries in a two-day span, all in the 200 block of Ranch Drive. At 9:36 p.m. April 15 someone stole more than $400 worth of items from a vehicle. On April 16, two cars had more than $400 worth of items stolen; one at 1:27 p.m. and the other at 8:22 p.m.

At Milpitas Square, a car break-in was reported at 8:08 p.m. April 12 in the 400 block of Barber Lane and another at 11:32 p.m. April 16 in the 600 block of Barber Lane. Both vehicles had more than $400 worth of items stolen.
