Thieves Target Cars in McCarthy Ranch Shopping Center

Three cars were broken into within the last three days in the Milpitas shopping center.

Thieves have been targeting vehicles in the McCarthy Ranch shopping center in Milpitas lately. 

According to CrimeReports.com, which the Milpitas Police Department uses to update crime information, three vehicle thefts were reported in a three-day span in the same center off Ranch Drive in Milpitas. 

The shopping center is home to stores like Dollar Tree, Men's Wearhouse and Michaels.

At 1:39 p.m. on Monday, April 1, Milpitas Police received a report of more than $400 worth of items stolen from a vehicle in the 200 block of Ranch Drive. 

At 3:42 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, more than $400 worth of items were stolen from a vehicle also in the 200 block of Ranch Drive.

Then, at 11:43 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3, items estimated between $200 to $400 were stolen from a car again in the 200 block of Ranch Drive. 

Thieves also targeted cars parked at the Great Mall last week. 

To keep their cars secure, Milpitas Police Sgt. Raj Majaraj recommends that drivers always keep their doors locked, use security devices, and park in well-lit areas.
