Two convicted felons on Tuesday were arrested for drugs and possession of firearms and ammunition about 12:10 a.m. on the 1200 block South Park Victoria Drive.
The men, Harjeet Singh Bala, 21, and Amanjeet Singh Gill, 35, both of San Jose, were pulled over for a traffic stop by Milpitas Police. In the car with them was Ivette Sanjuan, 30, of East Palo Alto, according to police reports.
Officers smelled marijuana coming from the 2007 silver, four-door Honda Accord. On further investigation they saw the wooden handle of a gun sticking out from under the driver's seat, according to reports.
The gun turned out to be a .357-caliber revolver. Officers went on to find another loaded .357-caliber revolver, a loaded .22-caliber semi-automatic pistol, several rounds of ammunition and prescription drugs oxycodone and hydrocone, according to reports.
Bala and Gill are convicted felons, and thus not allowed to have firearms, according to police. Both were booked into Santa Clara County Jail, according to reports. Bala was charged with being a felon in posession of firearms and ammunition, transporting an illegal substance and posession of a controlled substance. Gill was charged with being a felon in posession of a firearm and ammunition and posession of a firearm with a prior violent felony. Sanjuan was booked into jail and charged with providing a false name to an officer.
