City Commissioners Recognized for Public Service
The annual brunch honored volunteers who serve on city commissions, from public arts to emergency preparedness.
Volunteer commissioners play a valuable role in local government. The majority of the city commissions they serve advise the City Council on issues that shape Milpitas' way of life.
On Saturday, Mayor Jose Esteves, Vice Mayor Pete McHugh, and council members Debbie Giordano, Armando Gomez and Althea Polanski handed out certificates for the 16 city commissions for their public service in 2010.
Commissioners were treated to a brunch at banquet room. During the program, they were called up to the stage and awarded certificates.
