Collective Bargaining, Tech Update on Tap for Milpitas Unified School Board

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. with public comments and closed session, which includes a conferene with real property negotiators regarding Russell Middle School, a conference with a labor negotiator, and personnel issues.

A collective bargaining agreement with the Milpitas Teachers Association and an update on the Milpitas Unified School District technology plan are among items before the district Board of Education on Tuesday.

Action and consent items listed on the March 12 agenda include:

- A resolution declaring March 11 to March 15 as Adult Education Week.

- Disclosure of the Milpitas Teachers Association collective bargaining agreement.

- A proposed tentative agreement between the Milpitas Unified School District and the Milpitas Teachers Association for the 2012-2013 school year.

- Adoption of the 2012-2013 second interim report and submission of a positive financial certification to the Santa Clara County Office of Education.

- Approval of recommended goals set forth in Title III improvement Plan.

- Approval of course proposal for Earth Science.

- Approval of course proposal for Forensic Science.

- Approval of course proposal for Integrated Science.

The Board of Education is expected to reconvene in open session at 7 p.m. March 12. The meeting is in Building 500, 1331 East Calaveras Blvd., Milpitas.
