Council Preview: Council to Hear Odor Complaints

Milpitas City Council meets at 7 p.m. April 2.

Is Milpitas smelly? Yes, especially lately, according to a bunch of residents. 

In about a month span, from Feb. 19 through March 18, the Bay Area Quality Management District received 38 odor complaints in Milpitas. 

During Tuesday's council meeting, councilmembers will hear a report regarding Milpitas' stench.

Of those 38 complaints, 24 said it smelled like garbage, two people said it smelled like sewage and the rest didn't say what the odor smelled like, according to city documents. The city also has an odor-reporting website where 48 people have complained as well, according to city documents.
