The International Brotherhood of Teamsters has initiated a work stoppage which effects Republic Services operations in Santa Clara County.

City of Milpitas customers will not receive recycling and waste collection service today, Thursday, April 18 and most likely will not receive collection services on Friday, April 19. This is expected to be a two-day work stoppage.

Residential collection will then be delayed into next week with all routes affected. Commercial routes will be similarly affected.

Although inconvenient, customers are advised to leave solid waste containers at the curb or in their regular service area until services resume.
