California Labor Federation back Hill for State Senate race.

Assemblymember Jerry Hill has earned the endorsement of the California Labor Federation, his campaign announced Friday.

The state Labor Federation held a pre-primary convention on April 11 in Los Angeles, and Hill won the most votes from delegates, according to a statement released by the Hill campaign Friday.

"Working families face economic and political challenges every day," said South Bay Labor Council Executive Officer Cindy Chavez, "that's why it's important to have allies like Jerry Hill in the State Senate."

The labor endorsement adds to the growing list of Hill’s backers, which include the Sierra Club, California League of Conservation Voters, San Jose/Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce PAC, Peace Officers Research Association of California, and Silicon Valley Asian American Democratic Club among others.

Hill also claims endorsements from 390 local and state elected officials, according to his campaign.

"The endorsement from the California Labor Federation means a great deal to me," said Hill. "I am committed to assisting working men and women and their families to protect and improve the quality of life and well-being of all Californians."
