Letter to the Editor: Report Neighborhood Problems!

Abandoned car or new graffiti? Help is here.

Have you noticed graffiti in your neighborhood that wasn't there before? Are vehicles left abandoned on your street?

You can report it anonymously, and, the services are free of charge to all Milpitas residents. The Community Advisory Commission (CAC), founded in 1954, is a volunteer commission serving the residents of Milpitas and is your "Voice to the City Council." As an advisory body to City Council we want to beautify and improve the quality of life for the community at large by making you aware of these services.

The City of Milpitas, along with the Planning & Neighborhood Services Division, has programs in place that comply with city ordinances related to Neighborhood Beautification. Go to the City of Milpitas website, under the tab "Residents." Use the scroll bar to see all of the neighborhood beautification services available free of charge.

For more information on graffiti removal or to report graffiti sightings, call Graffiti Hotline408.586.3079. For abandoned vehicle abatement, contact the Neighborhood Services Division at 408.586.3075. To learn how the CAC can help communicate your neighborhood beautification concerns to City Council, come to our meeting at 7 PM, City Hall, first Wednesday of each month, or visit us @ http://www.ci.milpitas.ca.gov/government/commissions/community.asp
