Agenda for Wednesday includes permit and map reviews for construction of 276 townhouses and condos on Montague Expressway at McCandless Drive.

Milpitas planning commissioners make recommendations to the City Council and (sometimes final decisions) on items related to buildings, businesses and urban planning. This includes zoning amendments as well as development and conditional use permits for businesses.

Regular meetings are at 7 p.m. the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month at Milpitas City Hall, 455 E. Calaveras Blvd.

  • Wireless transmitter. Consider a request by Misako Hill, AT&T Mobility, for a wireless telecommunications device that would include a new pole and related equipment at 1751 S. McCarthy Blvd.
  • Wholesale zoning. Consider a request by Surinder Saini to re-establish a discontinued wholesale use for a property at 720 Montague Expressway, Suite A. It now is now zoned mixed-use very high density with transit-oriented development.
  • New townhomes and condos. Hear a request from D.R. Horton for a general plan and zoning amendment for approximately 24 acres along Montague Expressway and Trade Zone Boulevard. Also a major tentative map and site development permit to construct 276 townhomes and condos on 12.3 acres at the northwest corner of Montague Expressway and McCandless Drive.
  • Project revision. Hear a request from Michael Sullivan to amend a previously approved project to allow a fifth story and to replace a “wrap” condominium unit building with townhomes at 1200 Piper Dr.
