Other facts

I run for this office because I care deeply. If elected, I am committed to the following: * Working closely with parents, teachers, administrators, and fellow board members to improve students' knowledge or vocational skill through realistic solutions. * Fostering and expanding digital learning in all schools. Since Milpitas voters have invested $95 million for upgrading our schools' infrastructure, one of those plans should include bringing hi-technology to all classrooms. The extensive use of computers and online materials would benefit both struggling and top students. And the computers are also going to assist teachers do their work in a much more effective way. * Creating a Science Field Study Program. The top juniors and seniors would have opportunities to spend one week with engineers at partnered hi-tech firms. * Promoting tutoring sessions. The top juniors and seniors would tutor their struggling schoolmates and English learners for community service credits which would also results in big savings for the district. * Starting the school year in mid-August. This would allow more instruction time before students take mandatory state achievement tests and Advanced Placement and college-entrance exams. * Collaborating with City Council members for a fair portion of builder’s fee and negotiating on other shared obligations. There was only one meeting between the school board and city council in the last four years!
