What's on the Planning Commission Agenda?

The meeting agenda for August 10 included an application to demolish and reconstruct a 76 gas station.

Milpitas planning commissioners make recommendations to the city council and (sometimes final decisions) on items related to buildings, businesses and urban planning. This includes zoning amendments as well as development and conditional use permits for businesses.

Regular meetings are held on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at Milpitas City Hall at 7 p.m.

New gas station. The  on Serra and Calaveras would be demolished and reconstructed as part of an upgrade. The new facility would include a car wash.

Season's MarketPlace. A permit review for , a new shopping center which opened in the former Home Depot at 1535 Landess Ave.

Music Land KTV. A permit review for the on the second floor of a strip mall at 788 Barber Lane. The business got into some trouble after customers snuck in alcoholic beverages, contributing to fights.

New martial arts studio. Applicant Tony Tran is requesting for a permit to open a new martial arts studio in the Ocean Supermarket shopping center at 76 S. Park Victoria Drive. Proposed business hours: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, and Tuesday and Thursdays from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Closed Sundays.

Mobile recycling facility. Juan Ortega of Ortega Recycling, 81 Dixon Road, is requesting to bring in and operate a recycling unit for cans and plastic beverage containers. The dimensions are the size of a standard shipping container 8’ wide x 20’ x 8’ tall. Proposed hours: Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed Sundays.

New dental lab. A 600 sq. ft. lab at 1351 Jacklin Road.
