UPDATED: $6,000 Worth of School Supplies Donated

A donation of copy paper, pens, pencils and tissues for Milpitas High staff was made with the help of the PTSA and the California Retired Teachers' Association. In addition, Target @ 1st made a districtwide donation.

Over the summer, Robert Jung of the Milpitas High PTSA organized a paper supplies and donations drive to benefit the school. More than 15 parents and community members participated. They were able to stretch their donation dollars through sales from local merchants.

Last week, through the Milpitas Community Educational Endowment's partnership with local merchants, Dan Bobay, Milpitas Unified school board member, helped secure a donation from a local Target store estimated at about $3,000. These donations are for the entire school district.

  • 540 packs of filler paper (150 pages each)
  • 224 pieces of composition books (100 pages each)
  • 120 notebooks 
  • 500 folders
  • other various items

The Parent-Teacher-Student Association received a helping hand from the local chapter of the California Retired Teachers Association based in San Jose, which donated the following to Milpitas High:

  • 86 reams of paper
  • 150 pens
  • 1440 pencils 
  • 78 boxes of tissue
  • and various other supplies.
