Milpitas High Diver is Back-to-Back CCS Champ
Alexa Cacao was undefeated all year; first MHS diver to win CCS twice.
The following story was contributed by Milpitas High diving coach Freddie Cacao.
Alexa Cacao, a sophmore at Milpitas High School, took 1st place at the Central Coast Section High School Diving Championships in the girls division.
This 11-dive event was held last Saturday (5/12/12) at the Santa Clara International Swim Center and had over 50 female divers competing this year.

Alexa had a rough start at the beginning of the competition and was in 4th place after the 5-dive preliminaries; which cut the large field divers down to 20.
She then gained her composure and nailed down her remaining 7 dives during the semi-final and final rounds by earning scores of 7's and 8's from the judges.

Alexa's valiant comeback propelled her up to 1st place with a score of 440.15 pts and finished 14 pts over her nearest competitor.
Thus, making her a 2-time CCS High School Diving Champion, a first for any diver at Milpitas High School.
In addition to her CCS accomplishment, Alexa went undefeated through league play this season as well as gained big wins last month at the De La Salle Diving Invitational and the SCVAL El Camino League Championships.
Congratulations to Alexa in a job well done at CCS and throughout the high school diving season!
