Milpitas Rotary Club Holds Annual Speech Contest Monday

Five Milpitas High sophomores compete under the theme "Reach Within To Embrace Humanity."

The Milpitas Rotary Club held their 2012 Speech Contest with a field of five contestants, all Milpitas High sophomores, on Monday, February 13 at Brandon's Restaurant during their regular weekly lunch meeting. 

Their theme “Reach Within To Embrace Humanity,” included at least one mandatory reference to the principles of the Rotary Four-Way Test that guides Rotary's commitment to community service and fellowship.

Club First Place winners compete in the Area Contest, then a Regional event, followed by a District competition. Each contestant was limited to a 4-5 minute presentation before Rotarian judges and timekeeper.
