What to Expect at Tonight's School Board Meeting

The school district's Technology Strategic Plan is back on the agenda tonight. Board members are expected to vote to spend $250,000 on hiring of additional technical staff for the district, and upgrading the district's network.

The Milpitas Unified School District Board of Education public session starts at 7 p.m. today, Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 1331 E. Calaveras Blvd., Building 500. The agenda and the board packet can be found online.

Among the items on the agenda:

  • Technology plan. Approve the school district’s Technology Strategic Plan and allocate $250,000 from the district building fund to implement the program through June 30, 2012, which includes Also allocate $30,000, using ROP satellite funds, for Technology Vision team operating expenses through June 30, 2012.
  • Certification. Adopt the 2011-2012 First Interim Report and submit a positive financial certification to the Santa Clara County Board of Education.
  • Appointments. Appoint a school board representative and an alternate to vote in the election for members of the County Committee on School District Organization in 2012.
  • Nominations. Nominate candidates for the California School Boards Association’s Delegate Assembly.
