YOUTH SOCCER: Russell Middle School Ends Season at County Playoffs

The boys soccer team wrapped up the season with a league win, but lost 4-0 in the playoffs for the county title against August Boeger Junior High Tuesday.

The boys soccer team at Thomas Russell Middle School took the league title after a shoot-out victory and tie-breaker with Piedmont Middle School earlier this month. On Tuesday, the Wolverines faced San Jose's August Boeger Junior High in the county playoffs, but the Boeger Bobcats proved to be tough to beat. The San Jose team scored once in the first half and made three goals in the second.

Under Scott Numata's direction as coach, the Russell soccer team ends the season with a league title, five wins and one tie.
