The Kiwanis Club of Milpitas is a service organization sponsoring hands-on projects that focus on special needs…More of the community, helping the elderly and youth. They sponsor the Milpitas High School Key Club. The president is Becky Strauss.</p> <p>Kiwanis projects during the year include:</p> <ul> <li>Jack Emery Food Drive in mid-December which benefits the Milpitas Food Pantry with several hundred turkeys and many thousands of cans of donated food items.</li> <li>The Milpitas Unified School District (MUSD) Crab Feed in March</li> <li>Sponsorship of the Milpitas High school Key Club</li> <li>A clean up or beautification at the Kiwanis One Day  in April</li> <li>Milpitas Post Father of the Year in mid-June       </li> <li>Serve breakfast at the Relay for Life       </li> <li>Provide Cal Hills High School Students with scholarships toward college called "Turn Around Scholarships" </li> <li>Kohl's Cares for Kids event provides 80 to 100 students with $100.00 in school uniforms and school clothes</li> <li>Winter Child Spree providing school clothes for 10 to 30 kids       <i>            </i>           </li> </ul> <p>The Kiwanis Club of Milpitas meets on the first and third Wednesdays of each month, 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. at Omega Restaurant. The fifth Wednesday meetings, when they occur, are evening meetings and the club meets at a different local restaurant.</p>
