A scenic spot in Alviso to park and relax, to bike around, walk on a trail, or launch a boat.  You might likeMore the miles of trails, which are actually levees of packed dirt that loop around the <a href="http://pages.prodigy.net/rhorii/alvisowr.htm">old salt ponds</a>. They're great for walking or biking, but can get muddy after the rain.</p> <p>See pictures of the <a href="http://www.abag.ca.gov/bayarea/baytrail/vtour/map3/access/BTAlviso/Btalviso1.htm#trailviews">Alviso Slough Trail</a> Loop (9 miles) and the <a href="http://www.abag.ca.gov/bayarea/baytrail/vtour/map3/access/BTAlviso/Btalviso2.htm#Mallard">Mallard Slough Trail</a> Loop (5.5 miles).</p> <p>For boaters who are looking for access the San Francisco Bay, there is a new 133-foot boat launch ramp.  From here, you can venture past the salt marsh into open waters.  A gate key is available for $50 if you need access when the park is closed. </p> <p>Dogs are allowed in picnic areas and pathways, but not on levees, trails and boardwalks.</p> <p>Grab a meal in town after working up an appetite at a <a href="http://www.alviso.com/restaurant.html">local restaurant</a>.</p>
