Child Advocates of Silicon Valley serves abused and neglected children in the Santa Clara County foster care system…More by providing a trained, dedicated volunteer to advocate for the child's best interests in dependency court hearings. The volunteer spends time with the child and becomes a trusted friend, mentor and constant adult presence. Working with the foster parents, teachers, social worker, counselor and others gives the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) a complete picture of the child's life and needs. A special appointment by the court makes the Volunteer Advocate a powerful, independent voice for the child when placement and other decisions are being made.
Right now, nearly 200 foster children are on its waiting list for an Advocate volunteer.
